A solemn occasion in which we honoured fallen firefighters in a ceremony held on the steps of the Legislature Building in Victoria, BC.
VIDEO: Urban Search and Rescue has a new training centre!
On May 5, 2011, Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services (VFRS) and the City of Vancouver, together with Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), BC Ambulance Service, and the Vancouver Police Department, held a grand opening ceremony for the new USAR training centre.
Of course, the band was there!

Every year, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation holds a memorial event honouring those firefighters who have died in the line of duty.

Fallen Firefighters’ Memorial Service 2011
On March 7, 2011, hundreds of BC firefighters joined together on the lawns of the Legislature in Victoria to commemorate the untimely passing of 14 of our comrades. All of them died from cancer, an occupational hazard that was recognized as a work-related injury in 2005.
