EVENT UPDATE: Burnaby Hats-Off Day, June 4, Hastings Street, Burnaby

The Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services Band marching in the 2010 Burnaby Hats Off Day Parade down Hastings Street

A really fun, annual event, Burnaby closes down a long stretch of Hastings Street, this time from Boundary Road to Gamma Avenue! A parade, street festivities, food galore, balloons, clowns, and much, much more takes over this busy thoroughfare, and it’s really a blast…

EVENT: Firefighters’ Ride for Cancer, May 18, Burrard and Robson in Vancouver

On May 18, 2011, the Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services Band will be supporting our fellow firefighters as they “ride to Seattle” — on stationary bikes — to raise funds to fight cancer.

The riders go for hours, but we will just be there during the lunch hour, serenading them from noon to 1 pm.

The location is the corner of Burrard and Robson in downtown Vancouver.

EVENT: Firefighters’ Ride for Cancer – Wednesday, May 18.

LOCATION: Burrard and Robson in Vancouver.

DRESS: Uniform issued pants, long-sleeved light blue shirt, tie, belt, black shoes and black socks.

TIME: Call time – 11.30 a.m. Downbeat – NOON. It will last only an hour.
