Hey Everyone,
Here are the details on the Ocean Concrete gig on April 30:
TIMES:
- Call time (depending on your instrument) 11:15 to 11:30
- Downbeat: 12:00 noon
- Play time: until 1 or 1:30 (1300 or 1330)
- Post-gig: Munchies on the Island as per Rod’s recommendation
ATTIRE:
- Uniform: Navy pants, blue shirt, tie, belt, black socks, black shoes, no hat
- IMPORTANT: MUST have alternative clothing to wear if going out afterwards — no identifiable uniform pieces are to be worn inside any licensed facilities. Either cover up with a jacket that must not be removed, or, better, wear a t-shirt underneath your uniform shirt so that it’s easy to shed the badges!
LOCATION:
- Granville Island, Ocean Concrete
- Address: 1415 Johnston Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada, V6H 3R9
- Enter Granville Island, follow the road to the right past the Kids’ Games shop (which is the big red building on the right), STAY STRAIGHT! don’t take the left-hand turn that comes up pretty quickly or you won’t be able to get into Ocean Concrete, go down a ways until you get another chance to turn left, turn left, follow back almost parallel to how you just came (heading back towards the market), take the FIRST entrance into Ocean Concrete, expect to park very, very tightly up against everyone else’s cars…
- If you can, PLEASE TRY TO CAR POOL! There is only space for about ten or so cars… and if you must drive, and you have a choice, bring your mini, not your bus… 🙂
WEATHER:
- Weather Note: We will have a tent, so light rain shouldn’t be a problem at all. However, if the weather is really bad, the tent won’t do the trick (no sides), so watch your email and check this site the morning of the gig to make sure it’s still a go! Cancellation notices will go up by 9 am. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that!
