EVENT: St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Sunday, March 18, 2012

ShamrockAYE! Faith an’ begorrah, we WILL be there!

Will ye?

Last year we brought the full swing band (drum kit, keyboards, electric bass, electric guitar, plus all the brass), but this year we’re going to march. Of course, we’ll bring the fire trucks and our mascot along, too.

We’re planning to go in the West Point Grey Parade and the Pitt Meadows Day Parade too, and I (your friendly webmaster/bass player/cymbal crasher/bottle washer) heard a rumour we’re going to be doing a concert with the full band at the end of those routes, so make sure you check those events out, too. And, of course, we’ll be doing a full Swing Band gig at Ocean Concrete’s Open House again this year, too (April 29?). Stay tuned!

Oh, say, if you are at the parade, and if you take pictures or video of us, will you tweet it with the hashtag #VFRSBand? If we find your pictures, we’ll share them here on this site. We’ll attempt to take pictures of the crowd too, best as we can, and post those. (A little tricky to do while crashing symbols or whatever…but we’ll try…)

The parade starts at 11 am at Howe and Drake, runs north up Howe to Georgia, where it turns right and runs east to Granville, where it ends.

More details are in this article in the Province: http://kian.gl/xh3u

Erin go bragh! (Says the author, also named Erin (“don’t forget the ‘Anne’ part”)… by her Irish mother… heh…)
